Introduction

The Galenic laboratory is an organizational unit of JZZ Mariborske lekarne Maribor (Public Health Institution of the Pharmacies of Maribor). It's one of bigger galenic laboratories and it supplies galenic products to its own pharmacies as well as other pharmacies across Slovenia. We also manufacture some nutritional supplements, cosmetic products and medications, which have a license of distribution in the Republic of Slovenia (Swedish Bitter MariGal Elixir, Herba Tea – laxative herbal tea).

The Galenic laboratory has suitable production halls and equipment, precisely defined manufacturing processes in accordance with Good manufacturing practice, employs experts educated in specific fields, and has long-lasting experience in manufacturing galenic products, herbal medicines and cosmetic products. The manufacturing equipment and the equipment for in-process control is maintained regularly.

Since 1998 JZZ Mariborske lekarne Maribor (Public Health Institution of the Pharmacies of Maribor) adheres to SIST ISO 9001, a system for insuring quality that is tested and upgraded all the time. There are also special procedures (e.g. SOP) that ensure the proper functioning of manufacturing.

There are currently 25 employees working at the Galenic laboratory.
